Escape From City 17

Hollywood has a nasty little tendency to take awesome video games, and translate them into extremely poor film adaptations. I could sit here and list the bombs, like Hitman, Tomb Raider, MARIO, yadda yadda yadda. Well, before any Hollywood big whigs could taint the very name of Half Life, the Purchase Brothers, two independant film directors from Toronto, took it upon themselves to create their own original film adaptation of the game. In true Valve style, they chose to follow alternate characters, as opposed to the Silent Man himself (ala Blue Shift and Opposing Forces). The film, titled Escape From City 17 utilizes a wonderful guerilla style of filming that adds a much more "there" feeling to the movie, without causing motion sickness (not that I suffer from that anyway, I loved Blair Witch, but I digress). The CG is very impressive for something independant and in my opinion sets the bar pretty high for that Hollywood $100 million budget. The difference? The first two episodes only had a $500 budget. It's being billed as a mini-series, so whether there will be more than the two episodes is still unknown. You can view the first episode of the film by CLICKING HERE - be sure to watch it in HD, or else you'll miss the awesome.

The Skinny

So in the personal section here this week has just kinda started going by like normal again. Shot some pool with a friend the other night, and it being my first time shooting in about a year, I shot a pretty decent game. The next night saw a double-date bowling-night with my girlfriend and my cousin and his date. It was a great time, although I'm still a little sour about Brunswick Zone going smoke-free. Oh well, that's how it goes, eh? My car's health continues on the steady decline, and my girlfriend's transmission died on her just two days ago. We had to call a tow to come get us, and somehow by some stroke of a miracle, our friend happened to drive by right before the tow-truck showed up and was able to give us a ride back home, how generous!

In other news, I've got a new video up on youtube, go check it out, rate it, and leave me a comment! Be sure to subscribe as well! Time for the Car to Shower!

I also apologize for not getting a LOST blog up on Thursday, but I missed the first 15 minutes and the rest just kind of seemed like a blur. I did enjoy the quickness with which Jin was caught up, I was worried that was going to drag out, and we finally got to see what happened to Danielle's people...What did that smoke monster do to them? Is he really just a Temple Guard?

Charlotte's death was also tragic, I really liked her character and I'm sad she's gone (she was also smokin' hot!). We did find out that she and Daniel knew each other at some point in the past, ON THE ISLAND! Now what's Miles story?

As for Sun and Kate continuously working together and messing shit up, that pisses me off. Now Kate's MIA and Sun finally came to her senses...but what about Sayid? They've got to get them guys back, asap!

That's all I've got to say

Slimee, signing out.
